The 26th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee

Monday, August 11, 2008

Plans are well underway for the Manassas Fall Jubilee, produced with Historic Manassas Inc. Now in its 26th year, this highly anticipated annual craft festival features crafters and artisans of all kinds, including handmade jewelry, quilts, clothing and accessories just to name a few. The date for this year’s Fall Jubilee is set for Saturday, October 4th from 10am until 5pm, and takes place in Old Town Manassas. Center Street as well as the side streets will be lined with craft vendors, non-profit organizations and community information booths that hold raffles and drawings throughout the day. The addition of the new parking garage will make parking close to the festival plentiful.

Traditionally located in the BB&T parking lot, the Kid’s Stage features both professional children’s entertainment as well as the talent of local performing arts students. The stage schedule still had openings for local groups that would like to perform for the thousands of people that attend the Jubilee. Costumed characters, kid’s crafts, face painting, and various rides will keep the children busy all day while you shop. The grownups have their own entertainment including live bands throughout the day, and various Virginia wineries tempting them with a taste of their award winning wines before you decide to purchase.

The Fall Jubilee is produced mostly through sponsorship from local businesses, and donations from community members that want events such as these to continue in Manassas. “The Fall Jubilee has proven to be the most cost effective marketing opportunity in the area, especially in this economic environment” says Patty Tracy, Interim Executive Director of Historic Manassas Inc. “With access to over 20,000 potential customers in one place on one day, the sponsorship benefits that we offer far exceed the investment.” Volunteers to help with the festival are always needed as well.
